Have you ever been so engrossed in what you are doing that you lose track of time or didn’t hear someone talking to you? Sometimes called a flow state, being fully present in the current moment or experience is the practice of mindfulness.

We can access this state, and practice mindfulness, when we give ourselves permission to make art -- not for the outcome, but for the process. Staying focused on the art-making is where all the magic happens -- the healing, the relief (even if momentary), the breakthroughs, the self-compassion and the commitment to keep practicing.
Drawing on years of experience teaching thousands of adults and children and maintaining her own mindfulness and creative practices through illness and chronic pain, Vanessa gently guides clients in various approaches including breathing, movement, drawing, journaling, creative mark-making, Neurographica, and the Zentangle method, a meditative artform.
